Re: Colonels in Gray
In Response To: Re: Colonels in Gray ()

Hello,
recently I met someone in Richmond VA, who recognized my last name. He made mention that there was a then SGT John Rizzio of what he said was of the Italian Brigade(European Brigade?), that had been diminished in battle to where this SGT was promoted to Colonel in the field. This person mentioned that this brigade had come up from Lousiana(New Orleans)to VA. He did mention that John Rizzio did reside in Richmond VA during some time wherein(?). This is all he knew. I cannot find anything out there additional to elaborate this, and am skeptical to make reference purchases in that most available only list more prominent names in history. Can you help? My current home is in VA, and am originally from Cal. But have always had a natural draw to the Virginia/Carolina and Lousiana/Mississippi areas, henceforth, here I reside.
