I couldn't find Beauregard listed in the 1870 Federal Census for Louisiana nor could I find him in the Soundex for the 1880 Federal Census for Louisiana or Mississippi. Richard was born 25 years after the War began so I would suspect that his Grandfather would be a more likely candidate if we can find him.
