I'm looking for any information on 2 of my ancestors who served in the Union Army. I do know that one survived and the other died under a possible number of circumstances. The lived in the northern part of Hancock County, MS (now Pearl River County) at the time of the War. I'm not sure of any dates on them. They are JOHN LAMPKIN SMITH and his brother THOMAS SMITH. John never returned from the war. They both enlisted with the Union Army at New Orleans.
