Researching Col. Henry Forno, 5th LA Inf

I'm looking for info on Colonel Henry Forno of the 5th Louisiana Infantry Regiment. He commanded Hays' Louisiana Brigade at the battle of Kettle Run, Virginia fought 8/27/1862 in which the 5th, 6th, & 8th Louisiana Infantry regiments held off Major General Hooker's Division for a couple of precious hours while General Jackson's men ransacked the supply depot at Manassas Junction. Many of Hooker's regiments were down to 5 rounds per man following the battle, prompting General John Pope to urge General Fitz-John Porter to rush his men to the scene by night march. Porter's decision to wait until he could see his hand in front of his face before marching led to his court marshal.

Forno commanded troops guarding military prisons in Georgia towards the end of the war. He is also listed as Colonel Henry Forno (of the Louisiana Militia?) participating in the 1852 funeral procession in New Orleans for Senators Calhoun, Clay & Webster.

Regards,
Manassas
