Re: Battle of Pleasanthill re enactment

Hello from a Kentuckian and descendant of General Green. The reenactors do some very important work, reminding us of the chance and humanity and strangeness of all this stuff of our forebears of the past. Somehow they live in us, and we don't want to seem (or be) weird, but these reenractors make us glimpse things we can only vaguely imagine otherwise, with our books, and maps, and stumbling imaginations. Thanks, men and women. If we forget who we are, and were, we're lost in our present. You help give us back our place, here and now, of the then--and of the "us" of long ago. Keep on keepin' on, men and woman and boys and girls. And thanks. Sincerely
