Reconstruction-era indictments of Confederates

My gt-grandfather's obituary states that he was indicted in a US court in New Orleans. "After evading US marshals for
several years, Comrade Peck concluded that he was tired of dodging, surrendered to the Federal authorities, was taken to New Orleans, stood his trial and was acquitted."

How can I locate records of his indictment, trial, and acquittal?
