The best source of information on the regiment is the collection of letters written by Lieut. Col. Louis A. Bringier to his wife in 1864-1865. They are found in the Bringier Family Papers, Louisiana and Lower Mississippi Valley Collection, Special Collections, Hill Memorial Library, Louisiana State University.
