I am tying to find out if the Henry Gould that is listed in this entry in Records of Louisiana Confederate Soldiers and Confederate Commands-Vol,1-111(3) New Orleans,LA np 1920
Volume 2 G Page 67 -Andrew B. Booth is my Great Grandfather James Theodore Gould's brother Henry Atkinson Dorman Gould b. April 27,1822 in NY.
The entry reads:

Henry went to Napoleonville,Assumption Parish,LA and was living with his sister Emily Gould Birdsall Sparks and her husband Robertus Love Sparks in 1850 census. 1860 census shows him living in Ascension Parish,LA.
My questions are how can I find out if this is my great grandfather's brother? Is it possible to get military records showing his date of birth/parents/etc?
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
