Re: Cameron's (Louisiana) Battery

Re: Cameron's Battery; 4th Louisiana Light Artillery.

My Great-Grandfather, Henry T. Vick was a private in the unit. When he applied for a pension, he was, at first, rejected. However, Capt. Cameron wrote a letter on his behalf and he did receive the pension. A copy of that pension application and associated letters can be found in the Louisiana State Archives microfilm.

I have also read that because the unit was composed of men from LA and MS, the Mississippi State Archives in Jackson have records on the unit as well. I have not had the opportunity to visit there since I found the reference a few years ago.

I also found an obit on the web regarding Capt Cameron's death.
