"Big Peck"

I recently added BG William Raine Peck to my family tree. He is something of an enigma to me. Born in Talbot Jefferson County, Tennessee 1818 d. 1871 at "The Mountain" near Milikan Bend Madison Parish La was returned to Jefferson County for burial. Apparently the Pecks had extensive holdings in La, Ms, & Tn and frequently traveled between holdings. Peck arrived at 1st Manassas "to late to fight" later part of Jackson's "foot cavalry" promote to BG 6 Feb 1865 at Petersburg and transfered to Trans Mississippi, missing Appamattox. Any info on his last few months in CS service and post war efforts. Have been unable to name a spouse.
Big Peck was 6' 6" and weighed in at 300 lbs and surprizingly never wounded during the war. Scant evidence of a prewar/postwar relationship with Richard Taylor. They had family ties.
Thanking you in advance.
