For those of us who don't reside in Louisiana, it is difficult to stay abreast of these activities. I really appreciate your review of the efforts you and others have made to restore this Civil War treasure! It should serve as a model for others interested in Louisiana Civil War historic sites!! We can only hope that local and national interest will remain high enough so that State Parks maintains what you have presented them.

I visited Port Hudson about 3 years ago. The museum and grounds were in good condition and quite competitive with similar state run facilities here in the east. What I do not understand is the abandonment of Camp Moore as a State Historic site.
