Hello my name is Mike Hoss and I'm a reporter for WWL-TV in New Orleans. I'm currently working on a story concerning the Forts built around the New Orleans area during the War of 1812 and later used in the Civil War. Due to coastal erosion, these forts are basically disappearing.
We are working on a story to see if anything can be done to save them. We have talked to Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu about what can be done on the Government side, but what I'm looking for is a historian, or just someone who truly cares that these historic forts are washing away..
If anyone can point me in the right direction of someone we can talk to on TV I would greatly appreciate it.
