lt.col william h. garland

I am trying to locate the gravesite of william h. garland. he organized garlands battalion ms. cav. shortly after new orleans fell to union forces. in sept. 1863, gen. stephen dill lee issued an order organizing the 14th regiment confederate cavalry. william h. garland was made lt. col. in the regiment. he resigned his commission in december of 1863, because of his age,67. i found him living in new orleans after he left the service, i lost track there. anyone got any ideas for me in my search? any help would be welcome. randy ritchie, camp moore camp #1223 la. div. scv.
