Thanks Steve, that's some great information. The rest of the story would indeed be interesting. Like you, I would like to know the reason for his desertion to the enemy's army, probably had a lot to do with his demotion in rank. As you can see from Mitchell's post, his grave is markerd with a CS stone. While I agree with your sentiments, I would think his family should make the call on his headstone...I would assume that they could get one noting his US service to replace the CS marker. Thanks again for the CS service information.
