Arthur, I do not mean to start an argument, but I fail to see any distinction between what constitutes an Asian, African, Middle Easterner, Sandwich Islander, etc., and what constitutes a colored person, or "black" as I have noted Asian born persons, such as John Bank, who served in the 31st U.S. Colored Troops, and I do believe, at the time of the Civil War, all such non-white persons were classified under the general category of colored, or black in some cases. Yet quite a number of these foreigners were accepted within white units, and as I have noted were treated a lot better than the American born negroes.
