Sorry I have no info on your ancestor, but just had to get in touch as my G-G-grandfather, Jonathan Lewis O'Neal, was also one of Jackson's Volunteers, enlisting at Vernon in January, 1863, captured at Nerson's Woods (Irish Bend/Franklin--April 14, 1863), died POW in New Orleans May 8th, 1863. Records indicate his grave was not relocated when others were moved, and now Canal Blvd. is paved over the cemetery section, between the 2 remaining cemeteries.
