I made a trip out to the Port Hudson City Cemetery after the battle at Port Hudson on Sunday. I was shocked at the deplorible condition of this cemetery. As for as the markers of the Confedetate Soldiers, they are all but lost, when you do find them, some are either lying in a wash-out or grown up so bad you can`t get to them. This is also the same cemetery that the state has in mind on purchasing to place the UDC marker that was dedicated for the Soldiers of Port Hudson.
