On April 30th the
Williamson County Board of Commissioners will vote on the relocation of the sanctimonious "War Memorial Library" which is now slated to be built atop one of the last open places of the Franklin Battlefield. Good Louisiana boys were killed atop this land. The vote will be to relocate the library to a location farther from the Columbia Pike and keep a little open land to be designated as a battlefield park WITH a visitor's center. Civil War Interactive (CWI) is asking for letters in support of the move. I have already emailed a hundred people but we need more! Below I've provided a short form letter. You can copy and paste it with your own name, city, and state. Of course feel free and please write your own. Mine goes along with the guidelines that CWI said would be most effective. The email should be addressed to info@civilwarinteractive.com . CWI will hand deliver EVERY letter to EACH member of the Board of County Commissioners. YOUR VOICE WILL BE HEARD! Dear County Commissioners,

It is with a certain amount of immediacy that I

send this letter. I understand that an impending vote

by your board will decide the fate of one of the last

intact parcels of land upon which the great Battle of

Franklin was fought. Ladies and gentlemen, I feel it

is imperative that this land be preserved, forever, so

that my children and my children's children be able to

come and see this place hallowed by the blood of so

many American citizens North and South.

One day I hope to visit Franklin to see this place

and other locations relevant to the fighting there.

That means that I will spend my money at Williamson

County hotels, dining establishments, and area

attractions. There will be many others like me.

Williamson County and Franklin will benefit from my

tourism.

But that is not the real reason why this land

should be preserved. Let us strive to save this place

as a monument to American courage, fortitude, and

sacrifice. I humbly ask that you do your part for

those of us who cannot vote on this issue. Save the

Franklin Battlefield!
