In Response To: 2nd La. Cavalry ()

Mr. Bergeron's guide to Louisiana units has a nice write-up on it. I do remember that Taylor made, what amounts to, a snide remark about the regiment, at least in its condition when he returned to the state in 1863. Later, after their debacle at Henderson's Hill, Taylor says the regiment was too ill-disciplined for such close work. Yet! it was Taylor that left the 2nd to watch the Federal advance.

Funny thing, many people think that night attacks were not made during the Civil War, hah! just ask Colonel Vincent's men!
