Swords, South & North

I will take some Pic's of the swords and send them to you, and post them on this site also. I just got your e-mail. I have looked a lot for the "Tims" family from New Orleans and have had no luck. But I did find out that very few swords where made in New Orleans. I have looked all over the sword for a mark, or something to say where it was made and who made it, but there is nothing that I can see. But, it does have the "CS" in the hilt of the sword. I thought it would be nice to find out who this fellow was, where he fought, who he served under......and so no. All I know is my grandfather had this sword and then my Pop got it, and no one knows where it came from. The Union sword seems a little newer, it has a steel scabbard with brass around the top and on the bottom. It is also longer then the Southern sword, which has a leather scabbard with a brass top and the bottom is missing. But it is easy to see the etching on the side, "Charles W. Tims, New Orleans, LA." As soon as I get my digital camera working I will send the Pic's off to you & this site. Thanks for the intrust.
