I was wondering if anyone has any more information on this soldier or unit:
Hurst, Joseph, _ Co. G, Fire Battn. La. Mil. Appears on List dated Parish of Jefferson, La.,Dec. 11, 1861.
I know it's a long shot, but just wondering, because there is a Joe S. Hurst, Sr. ("died 9-5-1914, 85years" on headstone) buried behind one of my family cemeteries. Wonder why he wasn't buried inside?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
