1st Cavalry Battalion, State Guard

I am looking for information on my great-great-grandfather, George G. Waller. He applied for a CSA pension and according to the pension application he served in the Louisiana Regiment of Calvary, Company C for 2 years under a Captain Caldwell and a Col. Wych. In researching this I have found a Thomas J. Caldwell and a Robert E. Wyche who were both majors in the Louisiana 1st Cavalry Battalion, State Guard (found in 4 different sources including the book by Mr. Arthur Bergeron--Guide to Louisiana Confederate Military Units 1861-1865). There was a company A, B, and C in this battalion. This looks like the most likely unit that my gg-grandfather could have belonged to according to the information on his pension application. However, I have not found a roster anywhere listing his name with this unit and am not sure where to look and whether there may be additional information available such as a description of service, battles fought, etc. I have census records from 1850 and 1870 that show my gg-grandfather lived in Bienville Parish, LA (haven't found the 1860 record yet). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
