Skirmish on Choctaw Bayou

I was wondering if anybody had any details on the engagement on Choctaw Bayou in Tensas Parish on April 28,1863. I was down there this weekend and saw the marker on the edge of the bayou. Also, someone told me that about 15-20 plantations on Lake St. Joseph and Lake Bruin were burned to the ground about this same time, the only one being spared was Winter Quaters(whats its called today). Was wondering if anyone knows where a person might be able to find the names and owners of the plantations that were burned. Also, if the same yankee Col. that was at Choctaw Bayou had anthing to do with the buring of the plantations?
