'The Official Records of The Rebellion' for the Confederate forces engaged at Monocacy state that Hay's and Stafford's brigades were united under the command of BG Zebulon Pike. What I would like to know is; did each individual regiment of both brigades fight separately (keep their own identity) or were they combined or grouped into new regiment? And if so, what were they then named? Thank You!
