I am looking for infomation on my grgrandfather. He lived in WI & originally enlisted in a WI cavalary but then in Sept of 1863 he shows up in Louisiana, 1st Vol Cal, Co I. How did this happen? I have his pension records but I don't feel they are complete. I would welcome any info. Thank you.
