You need to get hold of a copy of Art Bergeron's "Guide to Louisiana Confederate Military Units, 1861-1865." It should be available in any decent library. Your unit participated in the Red River Campaign, fighting gunboats on the Red River, but most noticeably in the Battle at Hadnot's Plantation, an obscure action that took place somewhere between Pineville and Colfax. But get the book, it will tell you more. And HURRY, for heaven's sake, the paper's due day after tomorrow!
