All,
I am involved in tracing the wartime service of N.W. Sentell.
Records show the following data:
Sentell, W. W., 2nd Lt. Co. C, 6th La. Cav. On List dated March 12, 1862. En. April 6, 1862, Monroe, La. Present on all Rolls to Feb., 1863. Official Rolls of Paroled Officers, C. S. A., Paroled Shreveport, La., June 7, 1865, as Sentell, N. W., Capt. 6th La. Cav., Co. C.
N.W. Sentell is also listed as a 2LT in Forrest's 3rd Tennesee Cavalry and Woodward's 2nd Kentucky Cavalry.
I know that Forrest's 3rd TN had companies from several states attached and that Woodward's 2nd KY was also a composite unit as well.
I'm searching for the "trail" of N.W. Sentell and 6th LA Cavalry, which appears to be woven through these other units.
Any ideas or help are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
B.F. Graham
