Jim & Art,
I have researched this one several years ago. The image we all know of Taylor, standing and fully equipped was taken at Camp Moore as indicated on the reverse side of his CDV, which is in the Miles Taylor Collection (his father) at LSU. The sitting stances were taken later and there are two shots, and show him as rank of Sgt. This jacket is the jacket I believe is in the Museum of the Confederacy now. They don't believe so but the cording used for the stripes is identical. It is also shown in Echoes of Glory. There are also some civilian images of he and his wife in the same collection. I had these copied for myself several years ago. Of course, Taylor was disabled at Sharpsburg so I doubt the images in uniform were taken after that date but who knows? There is no reference in the Taylor collection.
