He probably was not enlisted in the army and thus would not show up in any lists of Louisiana Confederate soldiers. He could not have carried orders from Buckner (assuming this is Simon B. Buckner) because he had not yet arrived in the Trans-Mississippi. Don't know who Randolph might have been unless it was the engineer officer.
