Hi, Louisiana! I'm still looking for any and all info/references to the camel that the 43rd MS had from Iuka through the Siege of Vicksburg. Many Louisianians served in the same brigade as this once-famous beast of burden! Heck, the camel was probably killed within eyesight of the 3rd LA Redan! Surely some LA diarist or letter-writer mentioned the camel! Any info appreciated! -- Jim Huffman
