Thanks for that information. I hadn't thought to check the OR's & I do have a link /"favorite place" to read them. I'm going to re-read that article. It has been a while. If I remember correctly (always an issue these days) it was the 31st position on the map that didn't seem to correlate with the text but perhaps it was that Louisianna take on the points of the compass.

My brother-in-law & I went fishing on a big lake up in New Hampshire & he asked a local at the launch what direction to go to reach an island he wanted to fish and if it was north or south from the launch. The guy said "It doesn't work that way on this lake." Maybe some of those French Canadian refugees stopped in New Hampshire when the rest went to Louisianna.
