Andrew Stewart Herron was a Unionist delegate to the secession convention in Baton Rouge, January 1861. In spite of his cooperationist views he became Capt. Co. B, 7th Louisiana and was wounded in Jackson's Valley Camapign and at Sharpsburg. The Confederate statue on North Boulevard is actually a statue of Andrew Herron if I am not mistaken.
