Federal Rolls of Prisoners of War show him captured at Stone's River or Murfreesboro, Tenn., Jan. 2, 1863. Admitted March 17, 1863, to No. 14 U. S. A. Gen. Hospl., Nashville, Tenn. Sent April 3, 1863, to Prisoners Hospl. Forwd. to Military Prison, Louisville, Ky., from Nashville, Tenn., May 5, 1864. Transfd. to Johnson's Island, Ohio, May 12, 1864. Paroled Johnson Island, Ohio, and sent to Fortress Monroe, Va., for exchange. Sept. 16, 1864. Endorsement shows Varina, Aikens Landing, Sept. 22, 1864, and exchanged. Roster dated May 5, 1864, and March, 1865, Promoted to Capt., vice Daley, promoted Co. F. Killed in action Jan. 2, 1863. Successor, T. Gibson.
