D Jamison, Union Prsh,Conf Guards Reg, LA, Co A

I am looking for further information regarding my GG Grandmother's second husband, David M. Jamison. Her name was Harriet L. Stancil Farmer and they were married in 1855. He is said to have been born in Pennsylvania about 1820. Family info claims he was a doctor in Spearsville, Union Parish, LA and I have found record of significant land ownership in that location. Family info also indicates that he died while serving in the Civil War. This index show a D. Jamison in the Confederate Guards Regiment, Louisiana Militia, Company A, private. I have also been told that he died in Jackson, MS in 1863. I would like to know the content of his war records and anything of interest regarding his deathplace, date and the battle his company was engaged in, particularly around the time of his death. Thank you for any help you can be.
