Also, to answer you question-CM's wife Adele mentiones Squire's Battalion and Siege train in the application. This could mean just Siege Train Batallion under Squire. CM was young, and probably didn't go into service until 1864 if age really did count that much. So things seem to line up. One unit of service-Siege Train when the TransMississippi Department was under Squire if this makes sense.
