Re: Captain Leon Jastremski - 10th Louisiana Infan

My great-grandfather, Col. Eugene Waggaman, was the commanding officer of the Louisiana 10th Brigade. I am a Delawarean and on a visit to Fort Delaware a few years ago,it happened to be one on which then Col. Yastremski was being honored and a very large portrait of him was on display ( along with a Union counterpart). Col. Waggaman was captured at Malvern Hill in 1861, exchanged and returned to his command during most of the Shenodoah Valley Campaign where both he and Jastremski were wounded and as you say, Jastremski again captured. Waggaman was with the 10th at Appommatox.
