Pvt. James H. Teasley, 28th LA Inf. (Gray's)

I am conducting research concerning an ancestor, Pvt. James Henry Teasley, Co. H, 28th Louisiana Infantry (Gray's), who was killed at Mansfield in April, 1864. I have very little information thus far, other than the fact that he died at Mansfield. I am particularly interested in any sources that might assist in learning details of his service history, circumstances of his death, and where he was interred. (Although I realize it's doubtful that he was buried in a marked grave, I have that hope.)

I possess some info on the background of the 28th: Various books on the Red River Campaign (Joiner, Johnson, Ayer, etc.), Prof. Bergeron's excellent history of Louisiana Confederate units, Portraits of Conflict Louisiana, etc. However, if there are other references dealing specifically with the 28th, I'd appreciate any information on how to obtain them.

Thank you.

Respectfully,
Chad Teasley
