I am going to visit New Orleans this fall and was wondering if there are any presereved forts/parks or historical markers of significance relating to the actions around the bayou Lafourche in 1863. I have been researching much of these battles as well as the Bayou Tech Campaign and would like to visit some of these sites that might be close enough to drive from N.O. for the day. Is there aything to see near Ft. Butler/Donaldsonville? Thanks for any help.
