I am thinking my ancestor may have been killed or mortally wounded during the fighting around Pleasant Hill. I cannot find anything to prove my theory and I have run out of ideas on places to look. There is no record of him after March of that year. His wife was a widow a few months later. Is there any place someone knows that I could research?
