The name as carried on roll is George W. DeMeza, who enlisted with Co. "C", of the 7th Louisiana Battalion. His unit was Capt. McGavock Goodwyn's "Cresent City Blues, Company 'B'" from Orleans Parish. On Aug. 1, 1862, two companies of the old Saint Paul's Battalion joined the 3rd Louisiana Battalion to form the 15th Louisiana Regiment. One of them, the "Cresent City Blues", became Company "K", so you'll see that DeMeza has service files with both commands.
