Re: J.R. Albritton, Capt. Saulley's Co.

Perhaps you can help with the Albrittons. As you may know, the Albritton brothers (Allen Kendrick, Matthew Ford,& John Thomas) served with the 44th Ala. Reg't. Company C was organized in Wilcox as the Cedar Creek Guards and the unit became part of the Alabama Brigade commanded by Evander Law. We have found the grave for George W. Albritton at New Snow Hill cemetery (Wilcox County) and we have a man in our files named Enoch Albritton but no burial place for him. Both George and Enoch served the 44th as well. Would you know (1) the burial place for Enoch and (2) the relationship of George and Enoch to the Albritton brothers. Also, can you confirm if the brothers parents were Allen Kendrick, Sr. and Susannah Ford?

Your post has been very helpful and explains the service of J.R. Albritton in a way that satisfies all the speculation. We have been perplexed by the service of this man.
