Evergreen haunted house

Steve Mayeux, this is your "area" of expertise...

My wife's boss is from Bunkie and today my wife was telling me that this lady told her a story of an alleged haunted house in Evergreen. As the story told to me by my wife goes, during the WBTS the owner had a large safe in which he stored a large collection of papers such as deeds, letters and other Confederate documents as well as some gowns and other articles of clothing. I assume money was also kept in this safe. Anyway, at some point in (recent?) history the safe, which had never been opened was opened and the contents sold off. This has lead to "sightings and disturbances" of an unknown nature.

Now, I am not saying I believe this LOL! I am simply asking if anybody has heard this story and if so how close did my wife come in retelling the story. Does anybody know which house is being spoken of?
