Does anyone have any biographical information on Major John E. Austin of the 14th Louisiana Sharpshooters Battalion? Am interested in finding out something about Austin's background and if he was Irish-American. There are quite a few Irish names in the 14th Louisiana Sharpshooters. Would appreciate any help.
