Colonel Jack Wharton commanded Company E and then the whole 6th Texas Cavalry Regiment during the war. Afterward he built a portion of the Southern Pacific Rail Road. He then moved to New Orleans and served the state government and was appointed Marshall of Louisiana after the Packard government fell. Can anyone give me a good lead to this data as it is kind of lean here in Texas.
