So what was Ratliff's Company?
In Response To: 5th La. Cav. ()

So what was Capt William B Ratliff's Company in 1865? My ancestor, E. J. Byrd, Private CSA, (birth name Joseph Edgar Byrd) was paroled on June 7, 1865 at Point Coupee, Louisana and was listed as being in Capt. William B. Ratliff's Company. He was paroled by the Capt. of 37th Illinois Vols. I have his original parole certificate.
