James Wingate, Co F, Cons Cres Regt

This was sent to me via email, and I am posting here in hopes maybe some one knows where he is buried. If no one can figure out who ordered the marker, and knows where the grave is, I'll drive over from Mississippi and place the marker so the soldier is not forgotten.

Compatriots,
Mr. Bob Porter of the Col. Samuel D. Russell Camp recently told me of a Confederate headstone at a local monument company that no one has claimed. I stopped by Campbell Monument in Provencal, La and took a picture of the headstone.

Private James L. Wingate

Co. F - La. Infantry

Cons Cres Regt. CSA

1829 - 1879

If anyone knows the descendants of this veteran, or who ordered the marker; please contact me or the monument company. I will gladly place it or help someone place it if I know where the gravesite is located. This veteran is long overdue the recognition he deserves.
