Jose Augustin Quintero

JA Quintero 1829-1885, served with the Confederacy. He initially volunteered with the Quitman Rifle Brigade in Texas. He was later commissioned as a Confidential Agent and sent to Mexico. I have the original document signed by William Browne, acting Secretary of State for the Confederacy.

JA Quintero settled in New Orleans after the war and became an editor for the Daily Picayune. Family lore has it that he was involved in a duel in the New Orleans area in the late 1860's. I am searching for details on him and his service during the CW. He is my GG grandfather.
