Sgt. Thomas Taylor Co K 8th La Inf-fate(?)

In William A. Frassanito "Antietam" .pp.116-121 is a short
biograhy of Sgt. Thomas Taylor Co.K 8th La Inf.(b.1840/1841)
Wounded & captured at Antietam, the last known references
report he was at Montgomery,Al May 15, 1865. He was the son
of CS Congressman Miles Taylor. I did a little research on
Taylor's life. His father was Miles Taylor (b.July 16,1805
& d. Sept 23, 1873 Saratoga Springs NY)who on May 21, 1838
married Eliza Ann Bruden (age 19) of Mississippi at
Terrebonne Parrish Courthouse LA. She died Assumpation Parrish 1850. They had at least 4 children-John, Mary, Thomas & Searing. On p.121 a younger brother of Thomas is mentioned in Army West of Mississippi 1863 (possibly Searing-although no military record was found by myself).

The family home in Assumpation Parrish was a
plantation known as "Front Scattery" near Belle-Alliance.
(Reportably family graveyard was located at Plantaion but
doesn't exist anymore). In 1870 LA Census Miles and Searing
are listed but not Thomas. I think this indicates that he
may have died between 1865 & 1870. (GOne to Texas(?)
The Taylor family may have had a relative named Mary May of New Orleans. Should anyone have
information as to his death-write to
