Thanks for your book recomendation, I have already ordered it.

JA Quintero was my GG Grandfather on my grandmother's side. Recently I have obtained numerous original family documents on JA and his son Lamar. I have the original document for his commission as a Confidential Agent signed by WM Browne as well as other post CW documents.

Growing up I had always heard that JA was aconsidered a very important and prominant person in NO, but almost nothing on his relavence to the Confederacy. Family lore had it that he engaged in a duel shortly after the CW in New Orleans and left for Cuba while things cooled off. I have an original copy of a book he authored on dueling. I don't believe it was published outside ofd an immediate inner circle. I am attempting to research him from the Daily Picayune.
