Michelle, Paul and I have been in contact. I am in a California based unit that has portrayed Moody's Battery since the late 1970's (although I personally didn’t get involved until 10 years ago). Our Captain had the honor at Gettysburg 135th of commanding half an artillery battalion and for the 140th next year he will command a full battalion. The 135th is where I first heard of your (New York) unit. The Louisiana boys are going to throw in with us for the 140th. We would like to have you join up if possible.

I just finished a West Coast lecture tour on Moody’s and am now preparing a magazine article. A book based on my Madison Light Artillery/Moody’s Battery research is not far behind. Some I have shared with the Louisiana contingent, including Capt. Moody’s portrait. Among other things I have the complete Moody roster. I’d be happy to swap info.
